Donating Your Boat for a Worthy Cause

I first heard about Boat Angel from a fellow member of a local boat club. He has handled several boat donations for the non-profit organization in the past several years. What he does is he talks to the club members who have old or unused boats and offers to donate boats to charity. He was able to convince a few people to join the endeavor, so when I decided to donate my boat to charity, I went to talk to him.

First of all, he clarified that he was not getting anything from the donations or the organization; he said that he just wanted to help out. He also mentioned some youth outreach initiatives that Boat Angel was involved with. I was particularly interested in a Youth Facility that the organization was constructing which was designed to help teenagers get out of alcohol and drugs; I have a nephew who was addicted to heroin, and I personally witnessed how that stuff ruined his life. I quickly contacted Boat Angel through its website, and the organization oversaw the transfer of my boat and even helped me get my tax deduction from the donation. Now, I’m also helping Boat Angel get more boat donations from the boat club.
